About California Passport Offices

California Passport Offices is an independent guide to U.S. passport acceptance facilities and passport agencies in California. It is not a government website. We are not the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Postal Service or any county clerk, we cannot accept or check applications, and nobody pays to be listed.

Where the data comes from

  • Offices. 583 acceptance facilities in 428 California cities from the State Department Passport Acceptance Facility Search (retrieved July 2026): name, address, phone, website, passport hours, appointment marks, on-site photos and accessibility.
  • Locations. Map positions come from the U.S. Census Bureau geocoder. 57 offices that did not match an exact address use the ZIP code center and are marked with "≈".
  • Fees and rules. From travel.state.gov pages cited on each guide, with the date we checked them.
  • Passport agencies. Addresses and hours from each agency's official page.

How we check

  • Data the State Department does not publish is shown as "not listed", never guessed.
  • Open-now status is computed in your browser from the published passport hours and the office's time zone; holidays are not included.
  • We correct errors reported to us.
